Myrrh — Sacred Resin for Ritual, Relief & Radiance

Used since antiquity—from Egyptian mummification to Roman rites to the nativity story—myrrh has long held a place of reverence across spiritual, cosmetic, and medicinal traditions.

A fragrant resin derived from the Commiphora tree, myrrh has been cherished not only for its aromatic use in incense and rituals, but also for its benefits to skin, digestion, and pain management.

🌿 Traditional & Therapeutic Uses

  • Ayurvedic Applications: Myrrh has been used in traditional formulas to address arthralgia, sciatica, back and body pain, and more. It is known for its anti-inflammatory and analgesic actions.
  • Digestive Support: Promotes digestion and reduces internal accumulation—used in treatments for obesity, atherosclerosis, catarrh, and inflammation of the mouth and throat.
  • Topical Beauty: Myrrh oil is popular in the cosmetic world for its ability to nourish skin, diminish wrinkles, and restore radiance.
  • Massage & Skincare: Often infused into massage oils for strength, circulation, and a healthy glow

Note: In Ayurveda, some traditions recommend chewing small, well-washed pieces of myrrh. Always consult your healthcare provider before using internally.

🔥 How to Use as Incense

  • Step 1: Fill your incense burner with sand or ash to help diffuse heat
  • Step 2: Light a few charcoal disks and allow them to ash over
  • Step 3: Place a small amount of myrrh resin on the screen or directly on the charcoal
  • Step 4: Let the smoky, citrusy-sweet aroma fill your space with ancient calm

Tip: Loose incense burns best with occasional tending to maintain an even aroma release.
